1. Quit Smoking Tracker does not use accounts

There is no sign-up, no username, no password, and no Google or other linked account in Quit Smoking Tracker. Nothing about your quit journey is tied to an identity held by the developer, so there is no account for you to close or delete.

There are two separate things you may want to delete, and they work differently:

  • Data stored on your device: your quit journey. You delete this yourself, inside the app. See section 2.
  • Information you sent through Help & Support: only exists if you chose to contact the developer. You ask for this to be deleted by email. See section 3.

Doing one does not do the other. Clearing the app does not delete a support request you already sent, and deleting a support request does not clear the app on your device.

2. Delete data stored on your device

Your quit journey is stored locally on your device and is not uploaded to the developer’s servers automatically. This includes your quit-smoking profile, quit date and journey settings, smoking logs, craving logs, journal entries and daily check-ins, the reasons you recorded, achievements and progress, reminder preferences, regional, language and currency settings, and other app preferences.

Because this data is only on your device, you can delete all of it yourself, and the developer cannot recover it afterwards.

Clear all data inside the app

  1. Open Quit Smoking Tracker.
  2. Open the Settings tab.
  3. Scroll to the Data & privacy section.
  4. Tap Clear all data (shown with the description “Permanently remove local progress”).
  5. A confirmation sheet appears, titled “Clear all local data?” with the warning “This action cannot be undone.” It explains that your profile, logs, journal entries, achievements, and reminder settings will be permanently removed from this device.
  6. Tap Clear all data to confirm, or Cancel to keep your data.

Confirming removes the Quit Smoking Tracker journey data stored on that device and cancels the reminders the app had scheduled. The app then returns to its welcome screen, as it was on first launch.

Other ways to remove local app data

  • Uninstall the app. Uninstalling normally removes the data Quit Smoking Tracker stored on that device, following the behaviour of your Android version and device.
  • Clear storage in Android settings. Your device settings also offer an option to clear the app’s storage, usually under Apps, then Quit Smoking Tracker, then Storage. The exact wording varies by Android version and manufacturer.

Important: deleting local app data does not delete information you previously submitted through Help & Support. That information was sent to the developer when you submitted it, so it has to be deleted separately. See section 3.

3. Delete information submitted through Help & Support

Quit Smoking Tracker includes a Help & Support form. Using it is voluntary, and nothing is sent unless you fill it in and submit it. If you have never submitted a support request, there is no information of this kind to delete.

To request deletion of information you previously submitted through Help & Support, email support@syedshahbazhussain.com with the subject “Quit Smoking Tracker - Data Deletion Request.”

How to send the request

  1. Email support@syedshahbazhussain.com.
  2. Use the subject Quit Smoking Tracker - Data Deletion Request.
  3. Include the email address you used for the original support request.
  4. Optionally add the approximate date you submitted it, and the subject or category you chose, to make the request easier to find.
  5. The request is reviewed and the matching support information is deleted, as described in section 5.

Please send only what is needed to locate your request. You will never be asked for a password, an identity document, your smoking history, or medical information. Quit Smoking Tracker has no accounts and no passwords, and none of that is needed to find a support message.

You do not need to install or open the app to make this request, and you do not need to create an account of any kind.

4. Request data deletion

Use the button below to start a deletion request with the subject line already filled in. If your device has no email app set up, you can email support@syedshahbazhussain.com from any other mail service instead. The address above can be selected and copied as text.

Email: support@syedshahbazhussain.com

5. What information can be deleted?

Once the relevant support submission is identified, and the request is verified where that is reasonably necessary, the information held with that submission is deleted from the systems the developer controls. A support submission can contain:

  • your name, if you provided one;
  • your email address;
  • the support category you selected;
  • the subject and message you wrote;
  • app and device technical information: app version, platform, operating system version, device model, and language or region setting;
  • the pseudonymous installation identifier sent with the request;
  • the optional screenshot, if you attached one.

The support service does not keep a database of submissions. A request is validated, checked against abuse limits, and delivered to the developer’s support mailbox as an email, with any attached image included. Deleting your support information therefore means deleting that message and its attachment from the support mailbox.

Your quit journey data is not part of this. It stays on your device and is never sent with a support request, so there is nothing on the developer’s side to delete. You remove it yourself as described in section 2.

6. What information may be retained?

The support service stores no copy of your submission. To prevent spam and abuse, it keeps only irreversible hashed values derived from the request, used to count how many requests have come from the same source and to detect duplicate submissions. These hashes contain none of your message content and cannot be turned back into your email address, IP address, or installation identifier.

These hashed values expire automatically. The longest window is 24 hours, after which they are gone without any action from you or the developer. Duplicate-detection values expire after 10 minutes.

Because support requests arrive as email, a copy also exists in ordinary email infrastructure. Mail providers keep their own server logs and backups on their own schedules, and those are outside the developer’s direct control, so deletion from the support mailbox cannot be extended to every system a message passed through.

Beyond that, no additional retention period is applied to support information: the mailbox copy is deleted when you ask for it to be deleted. Information may be kept longer only where that is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, or to investigate an ongoing abuse or security problem involving that specific request, and only for as long as that particular purpose lasts.

Deletion requests are handled personally by the developer. No guaranteed processing time is published, so please allow a reasonable period for a reply.

7. Previously exported data

If you previously exported your Quit Smoking Tracker data, deleting data from the app will not delete copies you saved to Files, cloud storage, another application, or another device. You must delete those copies from their respective locations.

An exported file belongs to you and stays wherever you put it. The developer has no access to it and cannot delete it, unless you separately chose to send that file in a support message, in which case it is covered by a support deletion request like any other attachment.

8. Frequently asked questions

Will deleting my local data also delete my support messages?

No. Clearing data inside the app only affects the data stored on that device. If you previously submitted a Help & Support request, that information was already sent to the developer, so it has to be deleted separately by emailing a deletion request.

Do I have a Quit Smoking Tracker account?

No. Quit Smoking Tracker does not create user accounts. There is no username, password, or sign-in, so there is no account to delete.

Will uninstalling the app delete my journey?

Uninstalling normally removes the data the app stored on that device, following your Android version and device behaviour. Because that data is only on the device, it cannot be recovered afterwards, and uninstalling does not affect any support request you already sent.

Can you delete an exported JSON file?

No. An exported file is under your control once it is saved or shared, and the developer has no access to it. You need to delete it from wherever you kept it, such as Files, cloud storage, another app, or another device.

How do I request deletion of a screenshot I sent to support?

An image you attached to a support request is deleted together with that request. Email a deletion request and mention the support message the screenshot belonged to.
